Sow Farm Manager

Manage all daily aspects of a sow unit.  Responsible for maintaining breeding/farrowing targets, breeding and gestation, individual sow and piglet care, herd health, vaccination program, nutrition, isolation and acclimation for replacement gilts, budgets, staff development and record keeping.

Breeding or Farrowing Department Manager

Department head positions are located on the sow farms and manage either the breeding or farrowing department.

Breeding Technician

Responsible for assisting the Breeding Manager with all daily tasks of swine breeding including maintaining breeding targets, daily AI, herd health and vaccination program, nutrition and isolation and acclimation of replacement gilts.

Farrowing Technician

Responsible for assisting the Farrowing Manager with daily tasks of swine farrowing production including maintaining farrowing targets, individual sow and piglet care, feeding, daily farrowing, piglet health and vaccination program, nutrition and record keeping.

Herd Technician

Responsible for all daily tasks associated with the care and health of all animals in either farrowing or breeding.  This position provides hand-on-training to move to the next level.
